TABLETING is a process of compressing powder-based products into uniform and consistent sized dosages. The stages of tableting include the following:

This is the first step in the process of tableting and is a critical step in ensuring the weight of each ingredient in the mixture is determined according to dose, based on the target tablet size.

Sizing

Compression of tablets is better achieved if all the ingredients are of a similar size. In this phase of the process, we crush and grind products to create a uniform dosage.

Blending

In this stage the source ingredients to the final product are measured out into the correct proportions. It is important to ensure a consistent, homogeneous mix of the ingredients so that each tablet contains the correct mix and proportions of the ingredients.

Compression

In the compression stage pressure is applied to form the granule into a solid. As part of this process we use a rotary press to ‘squeeze’ the ingredients into the required tablet shape with extreme precision. We are able to make the tablet in many shapes, although they are usually round or oval.

Ejection

The end stage of process where the tablet is ejected and ready to form next tablet. At this point the tablets are packaged and distributed, according to client specification.
